I was unfamiliar with the material medical stone. But I researched it and found it to be exactly what I wanted! Light weight, but heavy duty, non-stick, and I believe it is also scratch proof. I have already cooked a pot of beans in it, and love the size, and the special bottom that heats evenly. It has good sturdy handles…they do get very hot, but a hot pad in each hand works just fine. There is a clear see-thru lid, with a steam vent, and a big wooden knob that doesn’t even get warm. Most big pots steam my arm when I peek in….but it will be difficult to steam my arm with this great lid. It fits perfectly, and is very lightweight. My favorite stewpot I’ve ever had!

I'm in Love with this Pot! Absolutely obsessed with it. The medical stone is a game changer - seriously nothing sticks to it. I have wanted a Dutch Oven for a while, but I think this Pot is better, bigger and lighter. It's at least 7 quarts, if not more. I love cooking big batches of soup in it during winter. I do recommend cleaning it after every use with a non abrasive sponge. It makes the coating last a lot longer. Also, bc it heats up so quickly, you don't need to use high temp and it's also not recommended. I got it on sale for $40 and it's a true bargain especially compared with Amazon prices
