This is a clever idea but I should have read the directions. Put the bottom down first, with the sticker facing up. The top will go on last with the sticker facing up. the top and bottom floor/ceilings have less holes for tabs. At first I thought they sent me a bunch of walls without doors/windows. Just bend the panel slightly or press your thumbs in each place they might be and you will find them. There are six walls that have two tabs on opposite sides, and six walls that have one tab on opposite sides. Three of each had doors/windows. You can stick any of the pieces removed back in later. I put the four walls together on their own. The two with two tabs will be facing each other and the two with one tab will be facing each other. (see pic 4) I took one of each from the two tab ones, and one of each from the one tab ones. I placed the four walls so the door is where I wanted Dumpling to go in. I will be putting mine in a corner for stability (because I'm stacking two sets of them). Slide them into the bottom carefully, making sure they're lined up. You will need to nudge a few tabs and sliding things on the sides a bit to get them in. Push them until they're all the way in.
The middle floor/ceilings have enough openings to fit tabs from the top and then also from the bottom (see pic 5). The first tabs you put in (on the floor/ceiling underside) can be put in any direction. The tabs you stick on top fit in the leftover holes. My cat was in it before I finished the first set. I wasn't feeling well and laid down then heard a noise and looked over and Dumpling was looking out of the third floor. This was a bargain. The felt boards were thick and sturdy and when completed the three stories are also sturdy. I actually bought two sets because I wanted to reach close to the ceiling. I have to figure out where to put a hole between so he can get from the first set to the second set above. I'm going to use heavy duty velcro between the two sets to hold them together. Then put a screweye into the wall near the top box and put a piece of wire or string around to keep it from falling over if my cat gets rowdy. Even at nearly 9 he races about on my runways and bridges near the ceiling. The dark gray was very nice. Will likely post a picture of the entire double set in the corner when I'm done. After putting both together I realized I was a little confused and it's not so clear what door/window should go where when you're done. Oh well, over time I can probably figure out how to improve the setup. I just know where to put it so my bridge on top can go against the wall and not be over the hole at the top and that I want a door at the front. I can't imagine that elsewhere these would cost less than $60 or $70. They sell heavy cardboard ones for about that and these will last longer. At some point I'm considering using these as forms to make the same thing out of some thin wood. Some cute toys came with it. The one star rating is ridiculous.
